Map(s) required: OL35 North Pembrokeshire

Parking

Approach

From Whitesands Bay Car Park (SM 7347 2718), continue east up the road and take the second left to follow the road up through the middle of the holiday cottages (SM 7369 2759) and follow the signs for “Carn Llidi”.

You will reach a fork with two paths. The first path on the left is well established, and then there is a second path on the right that climbs up the hillside slightly. Take the first path (left) until you reach two gateposts.

Turn right off the path and walk over to the first outcrop of rock (SM 7351 2785).

The Scramble

Climb up the rocky outcrop using one of the many easy lines available to you. Alternatively, you can continue up the concrete slabbed path to reach a large concrete structure on the top of the first outcrop.

Once you reach this (by either of the described routes), drop back down into the grassy col, and then continue up the rock to the summit of Carn Llidi.

Keep to the right of the footpath for the most consistent scrambling.

Once you reach the summit, you are greeted with 360° panoramic views of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire…
