The North East Ridge scramble of Harrison Stickle is well worth the trip. This is an enjoyable scramble right to the summit, and can be started by scrambling up the Stickle Gyhll stream that runs off from the tarn above.
Once you are at the tarn follow the path to your left and up the slope towards Harrison Stickle until you get to the base of Harrison stickle and the crag wall.
Follow the crag wall left at its base leaving the path behind you. Continue round until you are near the top of this terrace and then scramble up right on easy rock. The route is not hard to follow. Scramble up a short rock band and make a slight climb to your left. From the first grass terrace at the large facing wall, turn to your left and begin the enjoyable scramble ahead.
The route zigzags slightly as you approach the top of the crag (Not the Summit) from here look to you left and you will see a narrow sheep track that skirts the edge of the crag. Follow this to it’s end and take a steep scramble up easy rocks, to more level ground. From here, head directly for the summit, until you are below the main summit wall, near a cross of remembrance. Climb up the wall, (care to be take here, as this has claimed one life already) to the summit. For those not wishing to take on the grade 3 scramble of the summit wall, a path round to your left will take you safely to the top.
The descent can be taken by heading straight over the top of Harrison Stickle and follow the path down until the path breaks left take this path and follow it round the base of Harrison Stickle with Dungeon Ghyll on your right.
